Well, we’re almost all moved in now, a few things still in boxes but looking a lot like a home now. I love the new place, I can’t believe how awful TheFlat was in comparison. Don’t get me wrong, I loved living there, but with what we have now I could never go back to living like that. Here’s a list of things that are better about the new place:
- There is a freezer
- There is a whole kitchen, with lots of workspace and a table
- There is a washing machine
- There is a spare bedroom
- It’s on the ground floor
- There’s a bath
- The carpets are thicker
- It’s clean
- It’s bigger
- It’s nearer my place of work, meaning I walk to work
- It has sensible fire precautions
- It has a doorbell
- It has big windows
- It has a powerful and warm shower
- It has an oven
- It had a sofabed that’s compfortable to sit on (haven’t tried sleeping on it)
- It has a nice view
- I can park right outside it for as long as I want
- It’s convenient for visiting if you live on campus.
And now the cons:
- We have neighbours, which might mean needing to be quieter
- There’s no cafe underneath for peckishness
- It’s not in the centre of town, amenities are further away (including Burger King)
- It’s not as convenient for people who live in town
- The road can be hard to turn out of when there’s traffic.
Ok, I think we have a winner.
